Please take a moment to complete the form to the right if you are interested in receiving scholarship assistance through AIS. Be sure to read the requirements below to ensure that you qualify for scholarship support.

Incomplete applications will not be processed. You will be notified by e-mail when we have processed your application. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks after the deadline date for your application to be processed. During these 4-6 weeks, DO NOT CALL about the status of your application unless there are changes that need to be made to your personal or school information.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Enrolled in a university, college, junior college or technical school

One-Quarter (1/4) Northern-Native American Indian Blood.

Undergraduate student with no more than 150 semester credits or 210 quarter credits.

Full-time or part-time status - excluding non-credit courses.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25

FIRST TIME APPLICANTS (Submit an online application)
Please mail in the following required documents/items:

One photo of the applicant. Please provide a recent photo. Family photos are encouraged. It does not have to be professional, but old / tattered photos, or photocopies will not be accepted. The photo will be sent to potential donors who might fund your scholarship.

One full-page letter about yourself: specify your tribe, where you are from, the school you are attending and your area of study. Describe your educational goals and future plans. Explain why you feel you need this scholarship. Letters should be double-spaced, using 12-point font and signed.

Certificate of Indian Blood or proof of Indian heritage.

Official Tuition Billing Statement from your school. The statement must reflect the semester you are applying for and must also list the number of credit hours (full-time/part-time status), semester attending, year in school, and tuition amount or a letter from your financial aid advisor with the estimated cost of tuition.

Official copy of current transcript. It can be issued to the student, or the school can send it directly to AIS.

RE-APPLICANTS (Submit an online application)
The following must be turned in each time you re-apply:

One full-page letter about yourself. Adhere to the same guidlines as First Time Applicants.

Tuition billing statement from your school. Adhere to the same guidelines as First Time Applicants.

Official copy of current transcript. Adhere to the same guidelines as First Time Applicants.
