Thank You Letter

We know better than anyone how difficult it can be to adequately express gratitude to the generous donors who make our scholarships and programs possible, so we wanted to give you a few suggestions to help you brainstorm:

  • State the purpose of your letter.

  • Tell the donor about yourself (your tribe, where you grew up, your family, the challenges you’ve had to overcome to get your education, if any, etc.).

  • Tell the donor about your education and your goals (your school, your major, why you chose that major, and what you plan to do after you get your degree).

  • Tell the donor how this scholarship is helping you with your schooling/educational goals.

  • Close by thanking the donor again and pledge to do well with the donor’s investment.

  • Above all, be sincere. The donors just want to get to know you, and this simple letter will go a long way in letting them know that they are making a difference by supporting AIS.

Remember that these are just suggestions to get the ideas flowing, so don’t worry about including everything on the list. Congratulations on your award!
